1. Who We Are

Ask Ranger ("we," "us," "our") operates the Ask Ranger AI phone assistant service at askranger.com. We provide an AI-powered receptionist that answers phone calls, takes messages, and sends notifications on behalf of our users.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your Telegram user ID and display name. If you subscribe, we collect payment information via Stripe (we do not store card numbers).

Phone call data: When someone calls your Ranger number, we process:

Caller's phone number
Call transcripts (generated by AI speech-to-text)
Call duration and timestamps
AI-generated summaries of calls

Contact book: Names and phone numbers you choose to save.

Messages: Text messages you send to interact with the service (via Telegram or SMS).

Voice profile: Style preferences, sample posts, and rules you configure to personalize your assistant.

3. How We Use Your Information

To operate your AI phone assistant (answer calls, generate summaries, send notifications)
To block spam and unwanted calls
To match your writing style when drafting content
To improve the service
To process payments

4. Call Recording Disclosure

All callers hear a disclosure before connecting: "Please note, this call is handled by an AI assistant and may be recorded. Press 1 to continue." Callers who proceed consent to AI processing of their call. We comply with two-party consent laws by providing this disclosure before any AI interaction begins.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

Service providers: Twilio (telephony), Deepgram (speech processing), Google (AI models) — only as needed to operate the service
Payment processor: Stripe for subscription billing
Law enforcement: If required by law

6. Data Retention

Call transcripts and summaries are retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted. Account data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of all your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Webhook signatures are verified. All actions go through our Shield trust system and are audit-logged. We never store credit card numbers directly.

8. Your Rights

You can:

View your data by using bot commands (/calls, /contacts, /settings)
Delete your contacts and call history
Request full account deletion
Opt out of SMS by replying STOP

9. SMS and Text Messages

If you opt in to SMS notifications, standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies based on your call volume.

10. Children

Ask Ranger is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via Telegram notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
